Ash
"For the right person, this is a unique opportunity. Instead of starting with an eight-week-old puppy and waiting to see what develops, Ash is a mature Pudelpointer with professional training, upland experience, NAVHDA testing, known temperament, proven genetics, and a record as a producer.
We already know what Ash is—and that’s exactly why we want to keep her as part of Bowman Kennels. We’re looking for the right family who will enjoy Ash, hunt her, love her, and give her the kind of home she deserves while partnering with us in the future of our breeding program."

Ash
Ash is the kind of female we look for when deciding which dogs deserve a place in the future of our breeding program. Born June 3, 2022, Ash is a striking black female Pudelpointer with a medium-dense coat. Black is less common in the breed, but her looks are only a small part of why we chose to retain her.
We personally trained Ash and handled her through her NAVHDA Natural Ability test, where she earned a Prize II. She has been trained for upland hunting, points birds, and has the natural ability, drive, and cooperation we want to see in the field. She also swims willingly and has a good foundation in retrieving and basic water work.
Ash is out of our Bo × Hope cross, which has been an extremely successful breeding for us over the years. We know this cross very well and have been impressed with the consistency and quality of the dogs it has produced.
Ash has also already proven herself as a producer. She has produced some outstanding puppies, further confirming our decision to retain her as part of the future of the Bowman Kennels breeding program. Her litter from the Bo × Hope cross received a Breeders Award, recognizing the quality and success of the puppies produced from that breeding.
Just as importantly, Ash is a wonderful dog. She is very loving, enjoys being around people, and gets along well with other dogs. She has the combination we are always looking for—a capable hunting dog that can also be a great companion and member of the family.
BB
Bowman’s Red Ryder, better known around the kennel as BB, is a brown female Pudelpointer born June 3, 2022. She comes from our proven Bo x Hope Breeders Award litter, a breeding that has produced the type of versatile hunting dogs we have worked for years to develop at Bowman Kennels.
BB earned a Prize I in her NAVHDA Natural Ability Test, demonstrating the natural ability, desire, and versatility we look for in our dogs. She has a medium-dense brown coat well suited for the field and an easy temperament that allows her to transition naturally from hunting dog to family companion.
BB also has something that can't be duplicated entirely on a training field—experience hunting wild birds. She has hunted wild pheasants in the Dakotas and quail in Nebraska, giving her experience with different birds, terrain, cover, and hunting conditions. In the uplands, She is a natural hunter with the drive, nose, and bird sense we expect from a Bowman Pudelpointer. She also willingly enters the water, swims, and retrieves, giving her the versatility to handle both upland hunting and basic water work.
Just as importantly, BB is the kind of dog we enjoy having around every day. She is loving, personable, and good with other dogs. We place a tremendous amount of value on that balance because our dogs aren't going to spend 365 days a year hunting. They also need to be dogs their families genuinely enjoy living with.
BB represents what we have spent years working to produce at Bowman Kennels: a proven, versatile hunting dog with wild-bird experience, a great family temperament, and genetics worthy of carrying forward into future generations of Bowman Pudelpointers.
Pressing Questions?
Here are the most common questions we receive about the inner pack program:
Q1. Who is responsible for transporting my Inner Pack dog?
As the primary owner, you are responsible for bringing your dog to and from Bowman Kennels for puppy duty.
Q2. When and how often will my Inner Pack dog need to return to Bowman's ?
We will plan for one litter each year. Female dogs generally have two heat cycles a year, but we plan to breed on only one of those cycles. While mother nature determines the timing, we aim to breed outside hunting season to minimize disruption to your hunting plans.
Q3. How long will my Inner Pack dog remain on puppy duty?
As an Inner Pack member, you can choose to board your dog at Bowman Kennels from breeding through weaning. Pregnancy lasts about two months, and the mother stays with her puppies for an additional six weeks after birth. After her complimentary tune-up, she will be ready to return home.
Q4. Who has financial responsibility of my Inner pack dog?
We will be responsible for any veterinary care related to pregnancy and the care of the litter. You are responsible for all other routine care for your dog.
Q5. Who owns my Inner pack dog?
You are the dog’s primary owner, while Bowman Kennels retains breeding rights. We formally co-own the dog with you until the dog retires from our breeding program. At that point, full ownership transfers to you.
Ready to apply?
Please confirm that you meet our minimum requirements before applying
You will be required to transport your dog to Bowman Kennels a minimum of once per year. Due to this, this is not a recommend path for individuals who reside over 8 hours from our facility.
The dogs in this program are trained to hunt. A ideal placement is a hunting home.
We are only looking to place females at this time.
Applicants will be matched with dogs selected by our staff. You may request for more info on a specific pack member.
